Bay County Market Trends – Quarter 2-2010

by Wendell Browne on July 8, 2010

The tax credit has expired and of course, the scramble was on to close pending contracts before June 30th; prior to the closing date extension. So, let’s see how our market is performing thus far.

Contrasting the 2nd Quarter of 2010 to the prior 12 month period, the median sales price for detached single family homes in Bay County declined -5.6%. Overall an increase in sales volume was recognized, primarily attributable to the tax incentive.

Contrasting the month of June to the prior 12 month period, a -6.4% decline is noted in the median sales price.
