May Market Trends – Bay County, FL

Now that the home buyer tax credit has passed, a significant amount of the May sales were closings with contracts that were executed prior to the tax credit termination date.

The table below is based on local MLS data for the detached single family sector of Bay County, Florida.

The data indicates continual market decline contrasting the current period to the prior 12 month period. Even with the run-up in sales from the tax credit program, the single family market sector continues to correct.

As I stated in a prior post, the most encouraging trend at this point is the reduction in the standing inventory.
